Kopi Luwak Coffee 4 Oz (113 grams) – Whole Bean – Medium Roast – 100% Pure

Kopi Luwak Coffee100% Pure (not a blend)4oz (113 grams)Medium RoastArabica Beans The most delicious (and one of the most expensive) coffees in the world does not hail from Jamaica or Hawaii, but instead, from Indonesia. Kopi Luwak (Civet) Coffee is extremely rare. It is harvested from the droppings of a cat-like animal (The Luwak). The Luwak’s are very selective eaters. They love to eat raw coffee cherries and will only eat the best (ripest) of the bunch. Their digestive system processes the cherries, removing the outer husk and leaves the green coffee beans intact in their droppings. The droppings are dried, the beans are then removed and thoroughly cleaned and ready to be roasted. The internal digestion process adds a very unique and special flavor to the beans, removing the bitterness. Whether you are looking for a unique gift for someone special, or, you are a coffee connoisseur and want to treat yourself to a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Kopi Luwak coffee is the ticket! Our Kopi Luwak beans are imported directly from a Luwak farm in Indonesia and are hand roasted by our master coffee roaster in micro batches. We supply very small amounts of roasted and packaged beans to Amazon so, rest assured, the beans are always fresh and you will not be disappointed! Brewing Recommendations: French Press: Coarsely Grind 28 grams of Kopi Luwak Coffee Beans. Place ground beans in empty French Press. Bring 16 ounces of water to a boil. Allow to cool to 195-200 degrees Fahrenheit (10-15 seconds). Add just boiled water to French press and stir. Place Lid on French Press with plunger extended in a manner that will not allow steam to escape. Let sit for 5 minutes. Slowly push plunger down to the bottom of the French press (20 seconds or so from top to bottom). Pour Coffee and Enjoy! P.S. Do not allow coffee to sit inside the French Press as it will continue to brew.

Each area of the coffee world has its own growing cycle determined by the climate of the region. When a coffee tree reaches maturity,(which can take 4-7 years), it begins to bear fruit clusters along its branches. Referred to as cherries, the fruit is initially green and turns red when it is ready for harvesting. Beneath the cherries’ red skin is pulp, an outer layer and a parchment like cover covering the bean. Inside the layers are usually two oval shaped beans, with their flat side facing each other. Harvesting time for coffee cherries will vary by region and altitude. Typically there is only one harvest per year, which will last for 2 to 3 months as cherries ripen. Once harvested, the coffee cherries must be processed within 12 hours to prevent damage and spoilage of the beans. During the coffee processing the green bean is extracted from the cherry or fruit that surrounds it. Coffee is processed in one or two ways: the Wet or Dry method. Papua New Guinea – Peaberry Coffee Beans Sigri coffee plantation, located in the Waghi Valley in the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea was established over 50 years ago and rapidly gained the reputation for producing the finest Arabic coffee in the country. Their quality control begins in the field. Cherry coffee is hand-picked and is painstakingly checked for uniformity. It must be red and fully ripe which is necessary to obtain the correct balance of sugar and acid within the cherry. The selected cherries are then pulped on the same day of picking. The fermentation process follows with a period of three days broken every 24 hours by washing. Unlike most other coffees, the Sigri process follows this by total immersion in water for an extra day. This creates an amazingly superior coffee. Sun drying further enhances the Papua New Guinea Peaberry Coffee Beans and, unlike many other green coffees from this region all Sigri coffee is dun dried. Altitude: 1500-1700m Varietals: Jamaica Blue Mt. Roottsock, Caturra, Typica Process: fully washed, sun-dried on patios. Cupping Notes: With a fragrance of papaya and mango, this Indonesian coffee is sweetly acidic with a mild-medium body of complex flavors and subtleties that create a delicate smoothness to each cup. Known to have flavors of molasses, tangy grapefruit, and hazelnut, yet distinct chocolaty tones this coffee from Papua New Guinea is exotic and flavorful.
